MySwap by Mobistar is an option guaranteeing reimbursement of up to 50% of the purchase price of your current 4G smartphone within two years of purchase. As of end September, MySwap will be available from Mobistar Centers for existing and new clients with a subscription for just 3 euros a month. This service will not only be available for the new iPhone but will also include the most popular 4G smartphones by Samsung, Nokia, Sony and Huawei. Mobistar is the first mobile operator to launch a guaranteed buy back scheme for smartphones on the European market.
MySwap is being launched to mark the US introduction of the new iPhone this week but is also available for a selection of the most popular 4G smartphones as of 299 euros by other brands including Samsung, Nokia, Sony and Huawei. With MySwap, Mobistar guarantees reimbursement of 50% of the initial purchase price of your old 4G smartphone when buying a new one within 12 months. Customers who replace their smartphone after 13 to 24 months are guaranteed a refund of 40% of the purchase price.
Both existing and new Mobistar customers with a subscription can benefit from MySwap when purchasing a 4G smartphone, either at full price or subsidised, for just 3 euros a month. For instance, buy an iPhone today for 700 euros and Mobistar is guaranteed to buy it back for 350 euros within a year and 280 euros the following year on condition that you purchase a new 4G smartphone. MySwap is the simplest and cheapest way of always owning a cutting-edge smartphone.
A market study conducted by GfK Significant for Mobistar last April revealed that one in five smartphone users replace their device inside two years. MySwap guarantees buy back for a predetermined amount. The older the smartphone, the lower this amount and the offer is limited to smartphones of up to two years old.
Apple and Samsung are apparently the most popular brands with Belgian smartphone fans, whereas Samsung and Nokia are the brands of choice for traditional mobile phone users.
