Barcelona, 14 February 2006 - Mobistar has unveiled the content of its new tariff plans. Prompted by the results of an in-depth study into the expectations of its customers, the operator has completely renewed its offer and has come up with a simplified range of seven tariffs that meet the demands for simplicity, competitiveness and transparency clearly expressed by the users.
Mobistar has performed a profound analysis on the expectations of its customers and the market. Results show that mobile telephony users have a strong preference for simple tariffs and offers, in line with their needs.
As a result, Mobistar has defined a limited series of profiles corresponding to different types of users with comparable needs, expectations and lifestyle. The seven new tariff plans have been designed to provide better answers on these elements. Beside Tempo Basic (prepaid card available via Internet) and Tempo Essential (prepaid card with a degressive tariff), launched at the end of 2005, it consists of Tempo Music, Mobistar BestDeal, Mobistar Free, Mobistar Max and Mobistar Family.
Tempo Music: SMS and music to your heart's content
A totally new concept, 'Tempo Music', launched on the 1st of February of this year in partnership with Universal Music Mobile Belgium, consists of a rechargeable prepaid card, a WEB/WAP music portal, a radio station (podcasts) accessible free of charge via Internet or a mobile phone and a whole range of music and entertainment related innovations. 'Tempo Music' comes with an attractive sliding tariff scale (from € 0.30 to € 0.20 per minute) as well as with a monthly credit of 300 free SMS for each recharge!
Mobistar BestDeal: a subscription with no strings attached
The cheapest subscription on the market (€ 5 per month) is also the most flexible: the user has the freedom to cancel it all times, at no additional cost. Moreover, prices are strongly degressive (from € 0.29 to € 0.15 per minute). The price of the SMS is set at € 0.15 per SMS (activation cost € 15 as from April 1st).
Mobistar Free: to call almost 3 million users"¦ without keeping a track of cost
Those who are always on the phone with their family and friends have the possibility, for € 25 per month, to call and send SMS (1 SMS = 1 min.) without keeping a track of cost (maximum 40 hours per month) to all Mobistar customers. Calls towards the other networks are charged at the attractive price of € 0.20 per minute, € 0.15 per SMS. To ensure the best network quality for all, the calls are cut off after 60 minutes. Of course, the customer has the possibility of calling his correspondent back.
Mobistar Max: the more you call, the less you pay
Intensive users can now call for up to 275 minutes per month, towards all networks, at all times, for the fixed price of € 55 per month. The unused call credit balance can be used the following month.
Mobistar Family Talk: small budget for large families
This package, which includes two postpaid cards, costs € 50 per month. The two subscribers can make calls or send SMS (1 SMS = 1 min.) for up to 80 hours a month (total of the 2 cards) to members of their family and all the Mobistar customers. Just like 'Mobistar Free', the duration of the calls is limited to 60 minutes. The subscribers can activate up to four additional Tempo cards with a free monthly credit of one hour to Mobistar numbers or 300 SMS.
Since customers expect clear advice from their operator, Mobistar commits to evaluate the user profile of its customers within the 6 months following the date of subscription and then every year in order to assess whether it is necessary to switch to a more attractive tariff plan.
Bernard Moschéni, CEO of Mobistar, explains the aims that prompted the operator to undertake this spectacular renewal of its products: «We have heard our customers. With its new products, Mobistar precisely meets the expectations of the different segments of its Belgian customers at the most attractive conditions possible. We set out to be the most competitive, the most straightforward and the most transparent. We want to win more customers in Belgium, ahead of our competitors.»
