This summer Orange Belgium saw an increase of 82% of mobile data on its network (compared to last year) during the greatest festivals and events. The total 4G volume doubled and 4G+ traffic was multiplied by 11. This shows that Orange customers stayed connected when enjoying their favorite music bands. They used 91TB of mobile data in total (compared to 50TB in 2016), the equivalent of 30 million pictures of 3MB each.
The best moments were captured in videos and pictures that were easily shared with 4G+
Thanks to almost 100 extra installation on major events and festivals all over the country, Orange increased the capacity of 2G, 3G, 4G and even 4G+ so its customers remained connected all the time when enjoying their summer. 31% of all mobile data traffic was made in 4G+ (compared to 7.5% last year) allowing Orange customers to download and upload videos and pictures up to 3 times faster than 4G.
Mobile data remains key during festivals, but there was also an increase of 5% of voice calls. Orange customers sent 40% less SMS compared to 2016.
