Back to news index

Orange Belgium acknowledges the decision of Lycamobile Belgium Limited (“Lycamobile”) to acquire Telenet’s MVNO subsidiary Ortel Mobile NV ("Ortel Mobile"). Linked to this acquisition Lycamobile signed a full MVNO deal with Telenet on the BASE network.

Lycamobile has been active in Belgium since 2007 on the Orange Belgium network. The current MVNO contract between Orange Belgium and Lycamobile ends at the end of March 2017. In line with the provisions of the contract, Lycamobile has asked to extend the term with 6 months, until the end of September 2017, in order to migrate its customers.

In the framework of its prepaid strategy, Orange Belgium launched its international prepaid offer Maghreb Mobile in August 2016. The Maghreb Mobile prepaid card allows customers to call to Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia as from 0.01€/min.

Following the entry into force of the Royal Decree that foresees the identification of all prepaid mobile customers, Orange Belgium has rolled-out its prepaid identification process for all new and existing customers at national level in all its distribution channels.

Orange Belgium keeps its 2017 financial guidance unchanged.
