Brussels, the 29th of November 2005 - Mobistar is launching a low cost prepaid mobile telephony offer, only available via Internet, under its own brand name. "Basic by Mobistar" users can make calls to all the national networks, both fixed and mobile, for the fixed price per minute of € 0.19 and don't pay any connection cost. SMS are charged at € 0.10 per SMS.
Basic by Mobistar, available as of 30 November, is a clear and simple prepaid package that targets users who want to have access to the main mobile telephony services (calling and sending SMS) at rock bottom prices without compromising on the quality criteria on which the operator has built its name.
The package has been put together at a particularly attractive price because it is extremely simple (no connection cost charged on calls, no different rates depending on the time of day or the day of the week, no distinction between the various networks called, no promotions or special conditions, etc.), because it is based on a distribution and communication system that is managed by the user himself (Internet) and because it does not come with the range of value added services that are traditionally included in the Mobistar packages (GPRS, WAP, MMS, customer service accessible by phone).
However, Mobistar guarantees the Basic by Mobistar customers an optimal quality of the calls and a maximum coverage of its network. Certain features that are particularly appreciated by users remain part of the offer: free voice mail, free customer service access via e-mail, free consultation of the call credit balance via GSM and the possibility of activating the roaming service abroad.
To receive a SIM card, the user only has to register on the site www.basicbymobistar.be and pay the one-off administration fee to access the service, i.e. € 5 for Tempo users or € 10 for new Mobistar users. New users can also keep their mobile telephone number, even if they are switching to Mobistar from another operator. Additional call credit can also be recharged and securely paid for via Internet. All the transactions carried out on the site are checked by Ogone, the Belgian leader in the field of Internet payments and a company that is recognised by the country's banking institutions.
While the content of Basic differs from the other Mobistar packages, the operator's philosophy and commitment to quality remain the same. So why switch over to another brand?
