Mobistar confirms its commitment to enable more customers to access to its mobile multimedia services where and when it suits them.
With ‘Travel Data Daily’, mobile internet use abroad becomes more accessible to every residential customer. Thanks to this new bundle of 2 Euros for 2 MB a day, Mobistar customers can use the mobile internet in the EU+ zone* with peace of mind. With a 2 MB day pass, customers can process up to 1,000 Twitter messages or 80 to 100 e-mails without attachments or they can download 80 to 100 text web pages.
‘Travel Data Daily’ is accessible to everyone: to customers with a subscription or a prepaid card in a smartphone and to Internet Everywhere customers with a USB modem laptop. You can activate the service for 24 hours by calling #123*2# and selecting ‘great ideas abroad’,. Laptop users can activate it in their customer zone on www.mobistar.be Use exceeding the 2 MB bundle during the 24h validity period is invoiced at 1.81 Euros/MB, which is 50% cheaper than the normal rate.
As from March 2010, Mobistar is also activating ‘Smart Data Traveller’ for all its residential customers, an intelligent service automatically blocking data use abroad from a certain amount. This allows customers to keep their internet use under control when staying abroad and to avoid any unpleasant surprises on their invoice when they return. For residential users, this means that in the EU+* zone, their data connection will stop if 60.50 Euros/month including VAT is reached. In the rest of the world, this occurs from 242 Euros/month including VAT. Customers receive a free SMS message when they have used up 75% of this amount and the connection stops when they have reached 100%. In order to continue to use the internet, they need to de-block the connection by either calling the free number #123# and choosing the ‘Smart Data Traveller’ option in the “Personalize” menu or by texting STOPS to 8090 or by going to www.mobistar.be/smartdatatraveller .
All initiatives are part of the objective to create the best mobile internet experience for Mobistar customers abroad. Mobistar continuously invests in new technology to adapt its roaming services to customers’ needs and to offer them the same ease of use both at home and abroad. Mobistar customers can call the free customer service number 5000 at all times, wherever they are in the world to ask questions or request technical support.
