Brussels, 19 May 2006 - Mobistar launches the Music Store, allowing all her pre-and postpaid customers with a passion for music to download more than 350,000 music tracks straight onto their mobile phone. Mobistar is following the latest music and MP3 fad. In order to achieve its goal of providing the best mobile music experience, Mobistar has signed an exclusive partnership with Sony Ericsson.
Downloading music on your mobile is now very simple thanks to Music Download, accessible via Orange World from the Music menu. All Mobistar clients with an EDGE-compatible mobile phone with MP3 player can download anytime their favourite numbers directly from the Music Store using their mobile phone. Thanks to the EDGE-network this can be done super-fast anywhere in Belgium (99% coverage of the Belgian population).
Downloading a full track costs 1.99 euro. The Music Store holds more than 350,000 tracks from the catalogues of the most prestigious music labels (EMI, Sony BMG, Warner and Universal). Between 15 and 30 June Mobistar is offering her clients unlimited downloads of their favourite hits.
As back up for the launch of the Music Store, Mobistar has signed a partnership deal with Sony Ericsson. The Sony Ericsson Walkman W810i (a handset and MP3 player) is now on sale therefore in all Mobistar Centres. Mobistar and Sony Ericsson are also joining forces to bring out a mobile Music Pack. The packs with the Sony Ericsson Walkman W810i are on sale at 399 euro. The Sony Ericsson W300i will be available from June for less than 250 euro.
