Brussels, 4 October 2007 - Mobistar is highly satisfied with the continuing rise in the number of TempoMusic customers as a consequence of a successful joint approach with Universal Music. Over 500,000 TempoMusic customers now enjoy free text messages and music. Mobistar was the first to launch a new concept of top-up cards combining mobile telephony, music and multimedia, back in February 2006. Despite intense competition in the prepaid segment, the number of TempoMusic customers continues to rise due to the success of a unique partnership with Universal Music. Twenty months later, TempoMusic remains the most successful product of Mobistar's prepaid offering. Thanks to this success, the offering has been extended by adding the TempoMusicMonthly for postpaid customers. The TempoMusicMonthly subscription costing 20 euro per month includes 500 text messages and 30 minutes of call credit. TempoMusic is revolutionary in many respects. It is the first offering to give a young audience the possibility of texting for free anytime to all networks, thanks to the 300 freetexts they receive with every reload of minimum 10 euro within a month. On top, they receive 10 free sessions on the exclusive TempoMusicStation via their mobile (via the short number 1988). In total, TempoMusic customers have sent 1.2 billion text messages to date. Besides free text messages, TempoMusic offers its customers many unique extras relating to music, such as contests, meet and greets with artists, podcasts, film and concert tickets. "The success of the partnership with Mobistar offers us new opportunities for the future in the music industry", says Jean-Pol Boone, Country Manager BeLux at Universal Music - Digital & Line Extensions. "Mobistar in Belgium was the pioneer of this kind of partnership, which has now been taken up by other Orange subsidiaries and in many European countries. Universal Music will soon be creating another surprise by launching a number of new services." |
