An increasing number of seniors are today using a mobile phone(1). In the 61-75 age category, 94 % of the seniors have a mobile phone. Calling, receiving calls and texting are the most important activities for 69 % of this group. In the 75+ age group, 65 % have a mobile telephone for - in 87 % of the cases - making or receiving calls and sending text messages. Seniors are rarely techno freaks: they want to keep in contact with friends and family, so they're looking for a no-frills mobile phone.

Mobistar is meeting this demand by launching the Doro mobile phones in its Mobistar Centers. The Doro PhoneEasy®, with its bigger keys, a large and easily readable colour screen and a simple menu for easy use, comes in 2 versions: a 99 euro model and a 119 euro clamshell. The Doro mobile phones have a an SOS key to make contacting friends and family easier. The ringtone of the Doro mobile phones have been amplified, and the Doro PhoneEasy® 409 gsm is also compatible with hearing aids.

Mobistar wishes to make mobile technology accessible for young and old, and offering a ´senior phone´ fits perfectly into this strategy.
