Mobistar is further enriching its television experience. Before the end of March, the decoder of Mobistar Digital TV customers will be upgraded with a series of innovations. For the first time on the Belgian market, Starpack users will be able to access free of charge the applications Facebook®, Twitter®, Picasa® and Flickr®, all while watching television. They will also have access to the best search engine on the market in order to find their way in the electronic program guide (EPG). Last but not least, they can now use their Android smartphone as a remote control for Mobistar Digital TV thanks to a brand new app.Promises are made to be kept! When Mobistar launched its TV offering on 21 September 2010, it promised to add new functionalities to its TV platform on a regular basis. In the coming weeks, Starpack customers will be entitled to a first salvo of innovations, all intended to improve and enrich their television experience.

favorites” function, which makes it possible to create a shortlist of your favorite channels and to select from amongst them via “favorite zapping”.
The
Mobistar News channel is a new communication portal for Mobistar Digital TV customers where they will be able to find all of the most relevant information: updates, new services, new channels, must-see programmes, etc.
Since Mobistar´s goal is to work according to the continuous improvement principle, the upgrade scheduled by the end of March will also serve to boost the performances of the decoder and introduce a number of minor patches for the interface.
An Android application to control your TV The unique experience of Mobistar Digital TV is not limited to the television set. A few weeks ago, Mobistar became the first digital television provider in Belgium to launch a
Mobistar Digital TV application for Android. This service, which allows you to use your smartphone as a remote control, but also to programme your recordings remotely, already existed for iPhone and iPad, and now it also works with Android. It must be said that Google´s mobile platform is currently undergoing a massive boom and is equipping more and more smartphones.
