Op woensdag 22 mei huldigt Fluvius samen met de deelnemende providers Orange en FASTFiber2 de eerste wijkcentrale voor glasvezel in. In zo’n wijkcentrale komen alle glasvezelskabels van de woningen samen, in dit geval die van de wijk Genk Centrum Noord. Een wijkcentrale doet dienst als een soort ‘stopcontact’ waarop alle providers kunnen aansluiten. De installatie en configuratie van dit ‘stopcontact’ is de laatste voorbereidende stap om diensten te kunnen aanbieden aan de klanten.

Le mercredi 22 mai, Fluvius et les fournisseurs participants Orange en FASTfiber inaugureront le premier commutateur local pour la fibre optique. Tous les câbles à fibre optique des habitations de la région de Genk Centrum Noord y seront regroupés. Un commutateur local sert en quelque sorte de 'prise’ à laquelle peuvent se brancher tous les fournisseurs. L’installation et la configuration de cette ‘prise’ constituent la dernière étape préparatoire en vue de proposer des services aux clients.

On Wednesday 22 May, Fluvius and participating providers Orange and FASTfiber will inaugurate the first fibre optic local exchange. A local exchange brings together all the fibre optic cables from homes in the area, in this case the Central North district of Genk. A local exchange acts as a kind of ‘wall outlet’ that all the providers can connect to. The installation and configuration of this ‘wall outlet’ is the final preparatory step before the services can be provided to customers.

• Met een omzet van € 248 miljoen in 2018 is SecureLink een van de grootste onafhankelijke aanbieders van cybersecuritydiensten in Europa, met een sterke aanwezigheid in Scandinavië, België, Nederland, Duitsland en het Verenigd Koninkrijk.

• Orange annonce la signature d’un accord portant sur l’acquisition de 100 % des parts de la société SecureLink pour une valeur d’entreprise totale de 515 millions d’euros.
• Avec 248 millions d’euros de chiffre d’affaires en 2018, ainsi qu’une forte présence sur les marchés nordique, belge, néerlandais, allemand et britannique, SecureLink est l’un des plus importants acteurs indépendants des services de cybersécurité en Europe.

Vandaag ondertekenden Orange Belgium en de aandeelhouders van Upsize NV een overeenkomst met betrekking tot de overname van Upsize NV en zijn dochterondernemingen BKM NV en CC@PS. Met deze overname breidt Orange Belgium zijn B2B-aanbod uit met de Unified Communications & Collaboration- en ICT-oplossingen van BKM en beantwoordt het aan de groeiende vraag van zijn B2B-klanten naar één enkele connectiviteits- en ICT-provider. De overname zal ter goedkeuring worden voorgelegd aan de Belgische Mededingingsautoriteit, alvorens de transactie af te ronden.
