Yesterday, the 2024 Orange Fab pitch contest was held. This special innovation call of Orange Belgium’s start-up accelerator program focuses on exciting challenges associated with the deployment of Orange’s fiber network in Belgium. The four selected start-/scale-ups will have the opportunity to collaborate directly with the teams in charge of the deployment of the fiber network.
20 diverse futures entrepreneurs are embarking on ‘BuD-IT’ (Building Diversity in Tech), a 12-month program supporting diverse team entrepreneurship in Belgium by providing a No-Code training as well as entrepreneurial support to launch a start-up. The program is the result of an alliance between Orange, BeCode, and Start it @KBC.

To mark the eighth anniversary of the Orange Thank You loyalty program, Orange Belgium has, for the third year running, given its customers the opportunity to donate the value of their loyalty gifts to an association. The focus this year is on digital inclusion with the CodeNPlay association, which works to promote “equal digital opportunities for everyone.” This campaign raised a total of € 40,429 for digital inclusion.
Orange Belgium worked with SkyeBase to develop a proof-of-concept where drones inspect industrial infrastructure in a safe, efficient and high-quality manner. The project uses Orange Belgium's leading 5G network and received support from the Federal Public Service Economy to accelerate the rollout of 5G in Belgium. A live demonstration of an inspection flight 'powered by 5G' was given at the port of Antwerp.
The Board of Directors at Orange Belgium has approved the appointment of Philippe Toussaint as Chief Technology Officer as from 1 July 2024.
