Mobistar offers the best roaming experience to its customers

Brussels, 13 February 2007 - Mobistar guarantees its customers the most innovative services and the best customer experiences while abroad, too. Mobistar customers find the same ease of use when abroad as what they are used to at home thanks to simple and competitive roaming rates, user-friendly services, free voicemail messages and continuous reachability.

All of Mobistar's initiatives in this area are part of a broader effort to give its customers the least expensive roaming rates and the best services. Mobistar invests continuously in technology to optimise its roaming service.

On 1 February 2007, Mobistar aligned its Tempo roaming rates with the postpaid tariffs. Concretely, that means a reduction of 40% on SMS sent and on incoming and outgoing calls.  In zone 1, local calls and calls to Belgium now only cost € 1.10/min. Incoming calls in Zone 1 now only cost € 0.40/min. Sending SMS abroad is also less expensive, at € 0.39/SMS. Receiving SMS is still free. 

Another price advantage for the client is a result of Mobistar's having divided the world into five zones, with the same rate per zone regardless of which telephone service provider the customer uses to make the calls. Zone 1 is the least expensive zone, with the most roaming activities (<90%). Among others, all 27 countries of the EU, including Romania and Bulgaria, are in Zone 1. 

Mobistar also upgraded its voicemail platform, so that unanswered calls are no longer routed outside Belgium, but are transferred to voicemail in Belgium directly. In the past, customers had to pay for each voicemail message received. Thanks to Free Voice Mail Deposit, receiving voicemail messages while abroad is completely free of charge. Mobistar customers abroad thereby have continuous reachability and can decide for themselves whether to take an incoming call or to let it transfer free of charge to the voicemail. That gives them complete control over their roaming budget.

The technical platform has been adapted in order to work worldwide and meet the customers' needs as well as possible. All short numbers (5555, 5100,"¦) that are active in Belgium will continue to be available abroad. The Mobistar customers will benefit abroad from the same comfort they have at home.

In addition, Mobistar customers can also contact customer service free of charge (via short number 5000) at any time and from anywhere in the world with questions or for technical support.

Mobistar clearly gives its customers the best roaming options in the market.  Lower rates, simplification and transparency are the guiding principles.
