The Board of Directors at Orange Belgium has announced the appointment of Jelle Jacquet as Chief People Officer as of today.

Orange Belgium announced the official Belgian launch of Orange Phone, a free anti-spam protection and call identification application available on iOS and Android. With cybercrime on the rise and phishing attacks becoming more advanced, Orange Belgium commits itself to making digital empowerment accessible to all Belgians via its new assistance app.

As the annual reports season opened, Orange Belgium looked back at its corporate social responsibility results. Convinced that digital inclusion has become a crucial factor of social and financial inclusion, the telecom operator pursued its efforts in 2022 to generate concrete results through a structured program organised, amongst others, around the Orange Belgium Fund and the Orange Digital Center. This commitment for a better society also materialized through its sustainability “Re-program”.

Orange Belgium is donating 700 laptops to Ukraine’s civil society and €50.000 to digital inclusion NGOs in Belgium via its Orange Belgium Fund. This contribution is a response to the Laptops for Ukraine donation campaign launched by the European Commission at the beginning of this month, but it is also a concrete materialization of the operator’s commitment to more digital inclusion.

Today Orange Belgium signed the Charter for Digital Inclusion in Belgium to demonstrate its commitment to improving digital inclusion in Belgian society. Orange Belgium will continue to improve digital inclusion within and outside its own organisation by supporting campaigns that make digital inclusion a top priority, since the real scale of the problem for those affected by the digital divide is still insufficiently appreciated by the general public. 

Reducing the digital gap together

After the inauguration of its first Orange 5G Lab in Antwerp in October 2021, Orange Belgium partnered up with the iconic Grand Poste of Liège to showcase its 5G technology and demonstrated today during the grand opening its possibilities and applications together with the industry. The Orange 5G Lab will be used to develop and test innovative and concrete new 5G applications in collaboration with customers, prospects and partners.
