Mobistar acquires the Belgian b2b and carrier activities from KPN

Mobistar is announcing today an agreement with KPN Mobile International B.V. covering the purchase of KPN Belgium Business S.A./N.V. (b2b and carrier activities in Belgium). The agreement includes the purchase of the fibre network, the takeover of business customers and the wholesale activities from the former ‘Versatel S.A.’. The transfer will be effective during the first quarter of 2010 after approval by the Competition Council. The 135 employees of the KPN Belgium Business S.A./N.V. entity will be integrated into the Mobistar Group.

Mobile operators Mobistar and KPN Group Belgium react to the press release issued by Minister Huytebroeck concerning the executory decisions on the 3V/metre standard. Some erroneous information contained in this release needs to be corrected. For Brussels, Capital of Europe, set to take over the Presidency of the European Union, the delay in implementing the new standard will cause serious harm to the liberalisation of telecoms. Furthermore, the alleged health issues have still not been scientifically proven.

VOXmobile in Luxemburg becomes Orange

Brussels, 20th of October 2009 – Today, Mobistar announces that the brand  of its subsidiary in Luxemburg, VOXmobile, will change and become Orange on October 28, 2009. There will be no change to the Mobistar brand in Belgium.

Brussels - 23 September 2009 - Mobistar is the first mobile operator to introduce the Internet Everywhere Ticket on the Belgian market. With a prepaid card for mobile internet on a PC, Mobistar customers can go online whenever and wherever they please. They decide themselves how much they want to spend. This prepaid mobile internet formula offers an initial 250 MB of mobile data and is rechargeable. The Internet Everywhere Ticket is available with or without a USB modem in a mobile internet package at all Mobistar points of sale as from 28 September.

One Click Voice Mail gives all Mobistar customers direct access to the selected voice mail message. Mobistar selected as 'International M2M Center' for Machine-To-Machine applications within the France Télécom group

Mobistar, the market leader for Machine-To-Machine applications in Belgium, has been selected as ‘International M2M Center (IMC)’ for ‘Machine-To-Machine connectivity’ within the France Télécom group.  For a two-year period minimum, Mobistar will be a supplier for Machine-To-Machine SIM cards in the OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturers) market and the international M2M deals and will provide the associated services for the France Télécom group.
