Brussels, November 5 – The federal telecom regulator (IBPT) has published the new coverage maps for mobile operators. The map comparison tool confirms the superiority of Mobistar’s 4G network, both in terms of percentage of the population and geographic zones covered.
In order to provide an objective overview of the quality of mobile network coverage, the telecom regulator (IBPT) has developed a tool to visualize coverage quality. The maps used are provided by the mobile operators and have been field-checked by the regulator.

Today, Mobistar, KPN, BASE Company and Proximus have agreed to settle all outstanding litigation between BASE Company, Mobistar and Proximus related to the practice of applying tariffs from the past for mobile telecommunication services that are differentiated between on-net[1] and off-net[2] voice communications.
"The capital of Europe risks becoming the only place in Europe where the deployment of new technologies will be impossible, to the detriment of consumers".
Today, IBPT published a consultation on a draft decision regarding new wholesale price conditions for high-speed Internet as well as digital and analogic television via cable networks for the Brussels region.
This Monday 20 April, Mobistar has taken note of Telenet’s decision to buy Base Company (KPN Group). Since this operation must be reported to competition authorities, Mobistar expects them to thoroughly analyse the consequences of the purchase in the interest of Belgian consumers, for both landline and mobile telephone services.

Little has today released its first study on the Telecom sector in Belgium, commissioned by the five major operators of the Belgian Telecom market (Base Company, Mobistar, Proximus, Telenet and VOO), entitled ‘A New Deal for the Telecom Sector in Belgium’ at a seminar in Brussels, Belgium.
Brussels, 25 September 2014. Mobistar is putting the iPhone 6 and iPhonne 6 Plus on the market this Friday, 26 September, the official launch date of the new iPhone models in Belgium. The iPhone 5C and 5S are still available and all devices are being sold as a handset or with a subscription.
