Brussels, 15 November 2012 – Mobistar has appointed a new Director Investor Relations & Corporate Finance. Siddy Jobe will take up this role as of 1 December 2012 to replace Christophe Lemaitre, who became Director Marketing Office and Business Performance. Siddy Jobe will report to Werner De Laet, Mobistar’s Chief Financial Officer.
Effective today, Mobistar is adapting some tariff plans in order to respond to the growing need of Belgian users for mobile Internet. From now on, the Dolphin 15, Dolphin 25 and Panther 30 subscriptions will all be offering 500 MB of data volume per month. In the case of the Dolphin 15, available in a “limited edition” until December 31st, this represents a ten-fold increase in volume!
Mobistar lanceert vandaag als eerste in België een nieuwe manier van herladen voor alle Internet On Mobile-klanten, de herlaadbeurt via de Facebook applicatie. Vanaf nu hoeven Internet On Mobile-klanten niet meer naar de website van Mobistar te surfen om hun kaart te herladen. Ze kunnen gewoon op Facebook blijven en herladen op de Facebook pagina ‘Mobistar België’. Eenvoudiger kan het niet.
Mobistar is part of the international “Galaxy Note II – Mambo” tour. On November 3, the internationally renowned artist MAMBO, “Street Art” creator, will paint a fresco live at the Toison d’Or Mobistar Center. A nice example of the creativity inspired by Samsung’s Galaxy Note II.
Gabriel Flichy, who was previously in charge of network and IT at Orange Switzerland, will replace Pascal Koster as Mobistar’s Chief Network Officer. He will take office on November 15 and will serve on the Executive Committee of the company. His task will be to accelerate the deployment of 3G and 4G technologies in order to adapt the Mobistar network to the growing needs of customers. Another change in the Executive Committee: on October 1, Anne Cambier became Chief People Officer. In this role, she will manage the new human resources department created within the company.
In juli en augustus 2012 is het dataverkeer van Mobistar-klanten in roaming met 111% gestegen in vergelijking met de zomer van 2011.
The iPhone 5 will be available in the Mobistar stores in a few weeks. Between now and then, customers can already drop by Mobistar to get their free nano-SIM card and make sure they will be amongst the first to have the new iPhone once it´s launched in Belgium.
Veertig procent van de jongeren tussen 13 en 17 jaar in ons land hebben een gsm met internetverbinding of een smartphone. Dat blijkt uit een onderzoek geleid door GfK Significant voor telecomoperator Mobistar. Jongeren gebruiken de mobiele internetverbinding vooral om te surfen (onder andere op sociale media) en te e-mailen.
As of today, Mobistar can now also offer fixed telecommunication solutions to its customers in the corporate segment with branches in Europe and the rest of the world, thanks to a contract with Orange Business Services.
