Mobistar customers with Android smartphones have already charged 260,000 apps and games to their mobile phone bill or prepaid card

Brussels, 21 February 2014 – You no longer have to provide your credit card number to buy applications, games, music or e-books on Google Play™. Purchased content can be charged to your mobile phone bill or prepaid card. Mobistar was the first operator in Belgium to successfully launch this easy, secure service in 2013. Five months after the launch, Mobistar customers with Android smartphones have already charged 260,000 applications and games to their mobile phone bill or prepaid card. This means that the revenue objectives for purchases of this type of content on the mobile operator billing platform were exceeded by 200%.

Brussel, 3 februari 2014 - Happy Faces, een campagne voor het goede doel, opgestart door de Orange-Groep in samenwerking met Samsung, vindt in België plaats van 1 tot 28 februari 2014 in een twintigtal Mobistar Centers.  De campagne bestaat erin om een foto van zichzelf te nemen in een Mobistar Center met de Samsung Galaxy Note 3 of de Samsung Galaxy Gear horloge en deze te personaliseren en vervolgens te posten op de website www.aworldofhappyfaces.com, speciaal ontworpen voor deze campagne.

Brussels, 10 January 2014 - Mobistar is reorganising its Executive Committee in order to put an even greater emphasis on customers and services. Cristina Zanchi, previously Chief Customer Relationship Officer, has been appointed Chief Consumer Officer. The Board of Directors has also appointed Alain Ovyn as the new Chief Customer Service Officer. They both have the mission to further improve the Mobistar relationship with its customers.

Mobistar-klanten versturen 23,5 miljoen sms’jes tijdens de nieuwjaarsnacht en mobiel internet piekt met 4378 GB

Brussel, 1 januari 2014 – Tijdens de overgang van oud naar nieuw, tussen 20 uur en 8 uur, verstuurden de Mobistar-klanten 23,5 miljoen sms’jes en voerden ze 5,5 miljoen gesprekken. Daarnaast zit het gebruik van mobiel internet duidelijk in de lift. Veel klanten maakten gebruik van sociale media om hun familie en vrienden een gelukkig nieuwjaar te wensen. Het mobiele dataverbruik bedroeg tussen 20 uur en 8 uur 4378 GB. Mobistar had voldoende maatregelen genomen om de toenemende activiteit op het netwerk tijdens de nieuwjaarsnacht op te vangen.

Mobistar secures financing facility to continue investments in its network

Brussels, 19 December 2013 – Today, Mobistar announces it has secured
a 120 million euros revolving credit facility amortizable over a three year
period. The newly agreed credit line with Atlas Services Belgium S.A.
allows for a total of 120 million euros to be drawn. This new credit facility,
which comes on top of the existing ones, will mainly serve to pay the
recently acquired 800 MHz spectrum, which was acquired for an amount
of 120 million euros.

After 3 years of preparation the wholesale cable regulation will finally enter into its implementation phase

Brussels, 13 December 2013 – Yesterday, the Conference of Electronic Communications Sector Regulators (CRC) published its decisions on the quantitative aspects of the cable regulation in Belgium, after it had already published its decisions on the qualitative aspects early September. This step completes, after three years, the regulatory framework for the delivery of broadcasting signals and access to broadcast networks in Belgium through cable networks. The wholesale cable regulation now enters into its implementation phase. Mobistar reconfirms its intention to move forward with the effective implementation of the cable regulation to market TV and fixed broadband services to Belgium consumers.

Mobistar allows its customers to use its 4G technology free of charge in 30 cities and towns until the commercial launch

Brussels, 25 November 2013 – Mobistar opens its 4G network today in 30 cities and towns to its customers using a subscription including mobile data (Dolphin or Panther) or to those who use an Internet Everywhere formula. These Customers will receive extra 4G surf volume on top of their subscription to try out 4G technology if they use a 4G compatible device (smartphone or tablet). Early 2014, Mobistar will add at least 40 cities and towns to its 4G network and launch its commercial offer. By 2015 Mobistar plans to have the same 4G coverage as today's 2G coverage.
