Brussels, 6 May 2014 - Mobistar is the first Belgian operator to have successfully tested a true 4G+ network, offering a throughput of over 200 Mbps. For this premiere, Mobistar combined its 4G frequencies of 1,800 and 800 MHz. The aggregation of these two frequencies allows a more efficient use of the spectrum, thus offering higher speeds and a better coverage inside buildings. Mobistar will market this technology once 4G+ compatible devices have become available on the market and the national coverage is sufficiently homogeneous to offer a high-quality customer experience. After the results of the Commsquare studies and those of the Ookla tests published in the first quarter, this innovation once again demonstrates Mobistar´s technological lead in the field of very high-speed mobile networks in Belgium.

Brussels, 10 April 2014 – Mobistar is today announcing that its 4G roaming agreements with Orange have been implemented. As a result, beginning on May 1st Mobistar customers can surf on Orange´s 4G network in Spain, France, Luxembourg and the United Kingdom. Effective today, French and Spanish visitors who come to Belgium can already use Mobistar´s 4G network. According to the Ookla tests conducted in March 2014, Mobistar still has the best-performing 4G network in Belgium. In order to facilitate the use of 4G for its customers abroad, Mobistar is also launching for private and business users new tariff plans that include 4G roaming in Europe. The data control mechanism that protects customers against high invoices also continues to apply for 4G use abroad.
Brussels, 7 April 2014 – Mobistar has announced today that it has concluded an agreement with Carrefour for Carrefour’s hypermarkets telecommunication operations in Belgium. Mobistar and Carrefour have been working closely together since 2000. The strengthening of their cooperation is fully in line with Mobistar’s distribution strategy focusing on customer experience, service and more control over its distribution channels.
Brussel, 2 april 2014 – Vandaag woensdag 2 april is het Wereld Autisme Dag. Deze themadag is bedoeld om autisme onder de aandacht te brengen en te zorgen dat mensen met autisme en hun directe omgeving op meer begrip kunnen rekenen. Een dertigtal medewerkers van Mobistar zullen op die dag als vrijwilliger personen met autisme begeleiden. Zij worden ‘s ochtends gebriefd door een persoon die autisme heeft. Hij zal de medewerkers uitleggen hoe hij zijn autisme ervaart. Mobistar zal ook deelnemen aan het wereldwijde initiatief “Light It Up Blue” en zijn gebouw op 2 april helemaal blauw verlichten om zo autisme in de schijnwerpers te zetten.
Brussels— 14 March 2014 — Alpha Networks SA, a confirmed leader in software for Pay-TV, and Mobistar announced today that the Belgian telecommunications operator has selected the integrated operational and business support system solution from Alpha Networks to support its upcoming cable TV and broadband services. Brussels, 12 March 2014 - As of March 31st, Mobistar is giving all its customers access to its brand-new 4G network with the best quality. Mobistar´s 4G network is at least 50 % faster than that of its competitors, as shown by a recent test that measures the speeds of the different networks. Mobistar´s 4G network will provide 270 cities and municipalities with a homogeneous coverage of at least 50 % of the Belgian population. As of March 31st, both private and business customers who use a tariff plan with mobile data can also use that data on the 4G network at no extra cost. Moreover, there is a seamless transition between the 3G and 4G networks, so that the customers enjoy an optimal customer experience.
Brussels, 7 March 2014 - Today Red Bull MOBILE is launching, in collaboration with Mobistar, a new prepaid tariff plan that is better adapted to the evolving needs of young people. With the new Red Bull MOBILE tariff plan, young people can call and send SMS´s to all networks and get unlimited access to social media. In addition, Red Bull MOBILE users receive a surfing volume of 250 MB plus unlimited access to the dynamic world of Red Bull via the Red Bull MOBILE portal site. This co-marketing agreement offers Mobistar an opportunity to strengthen its position in the highly competitive prepaid market.
Paris/Brussels— 3rd of March 2014 — Viaccess-Orca (VO), a global leader in the protection and enhancement of content services, and Mobistar announced today that Belgian telecommunications operator Mobistar has selected a content protection solution from Viaccess-Orca to support its cable TV service. Using Viaccess-Orca’s Prime Sentinel smart card-based conditional access system (CAS), Mobistar can securely deliver premium live television content to subscribers’ set-top boxes (STBs).
