The Board of Directors of Orange Belgium has decided to appoint Michaël Trabbia to the position of CEO as from September 1st 2016.

With his engineering education and a rich and varied career of 15 years, Michaël Trabbia has an excellent understanding of the telecom sector and its environment. Recognized for his managerial qualities, he has strong strategic expertise and extensive experience in stakeholder relations.

Jean Marc Harion leaves his duties as CEO of Orange Belgium to become CEO of Orange Egypt

Jean Marc Harion, currently CEO of Orange Belgium, will leave office on August 31, 2016 and is thought of as a possible CEO of Orange Egypt. The President of the Board will gather the Board of Directors shortly to appoint a new CEO for the company.

Mobistar and Cropland map out crowds of people during large-scale events in commission of Antwerp’s city Council

  • Mobistar will adopt the Orange brand name as of Monday, 9 May 2016;

  • The transition will begin soon and will be carried out gradually;

  • Customers don’t have to do anything and nothing will change for them when the Orange brand arrives on the Belgian market.

Board of Directors of Mobistar approves the adoption of the Orange brand in Belgium

Brussels, 4 February 2016 – As proposed by the management team, Mobistar’s Board of Directors has decided in favour of adopting the Orange brand in Belgium.

For the past few years, Mobistar has conducted several in-depth analyses regarding the opportunity of replacing the Mobistar brand with the Orange brand. The analysis of the Belgian market evolution carried out in 2015 led the management team to propose this change of brand to the Board of Directors.

The superiority of Mobistar’s 4G network established by the telecom regulator

Brussels, November 5 – The federal telecom regulator (IBPT) has published the new coverage maps for mobile operators. The map comparison tool confirms the superiority of Mobistar’s 4G network, both in terms of percentage of the population and geographic zones covered.

In order to provide an objective overview of the quality of mobile network coverage, the telecom regulator (IBPT) has developed a tool to visualize coverage quality. The maps used are provided by the mobile operators and have been field-checked by the regulator.
